Shahnaz Habib is an Indian poet, writer and columnist based in the United States of America. She is famous for her English poem ''Of Hypocrisy and Cheekbones'', which won the First Prize in the Ninth ''National Poetry Competition'' in 2000 organized by The Poetry Society (India) in collaboration with British Council.

Shahnaz Habib is a writer and filmmaker who grew up in South India and is currently based in New York. Her short stories have been selected for publication in two anthologies - Twentysomething and 21 under 40.
Shahnaz Habib is presently a freelance writer and editor, based in Brooklyn, New York , USA. Her writing has been published in the New York Press, Women's ENews, Elan, etc. and has appeared in the anthology, Twentysomething Essays by Twentysomething Writers
Shahnaz was declared ‘’All India Poetry Champion’’ in 2000 for her poem ''Of Hypocrisy and Cheekbones''. Paul Farley and Nic Humphries, the eminent British poets, formed the selection committee which chose Habib’s poem out of the 4000 entries.
